Concept project · Website with online booking

A hotel day spa website with online booking and gift vouchers

Solenne Hotel & Spa is a Primessio concept project: a three-language website for a hotel day spa that sells a spa day without an overnight stay — from the first click to a booking confirmation or a gift voucher. The brand and data are fictional; the technology, design and process are exactly what we deliver for clients.

A Primessio showcase for hospitality and wellness: visual design, content in three languages, online booking with live pricing, a voucher builder, motion design and SEO/AEO — built with Astro and verified by automated tests using real clicks.

Primessio (ACTIVE IT) is a software house based in Warsaw: websites and online stores, custom software and IT systems, SEO and AI SEO, social media and content, branding and project management — for clients in Poland and the DACH region. Below is one of our projects.

Challenge

A hotel spa sells two products to two audiences: hotel guests (spa included in the stay, treatments at a discount) and day guests who buy a spa day. Typical hotel websites bury the spa on a sub-page and send bookings to the phone or to an external system where the price only appears at the last step.

On top of that come international guests (DACH and English-speaking), seasonal pricing (weekdays and weekends), vouchers as an important revenue stream, and the need for a site that is atmospheric and fast at the same time — on mobile too.

Solution

A website built around one decision: “how will you spend your day?”. The hero booking bar (day, guests, package) prices the visit instantly and hands the choice to the booking flow. The price list switches between weekday and weekend rates, the treatment menu has filters and a preview, and the day plan and wellness facilities show what guests are paying for.

The booking flow guides guests through four steps with a live cost summary: package, date (a calendar from today, arrival times with remaining places), extras (treatments, lunch, a private steam room) and details — with a “hotel guest” switch, inline validation and a calendar file at the end. The voucher builder previews the gift card in real time.

What we delivered

Visual design

A “quiet luxury” direction: photography, Cormorant + Montserrat type, layouts on a design canvas before any code.

Content EN · PL · DE

Transcreation, not translation — with localised URLs (booking / rezerwacja / buchung).

Online booking

Four steps, live costs, weekend pricing, hotel-guest mode, validation and confirmation with an .ics file.

Voucher builder

Package or amount, three card designs, a personal message and delivery options — the preview updates instantly.

Motion design

Smooth scrolling, headline reveal, image reveals and parallax — with full support for reduced motion.

SEO / AEO

hreflang for three languages, DaySpa and FAQPage structured data, sitemap, llms.txt.

Performance

Static build, WebP images in multiple sizes, self-hosted fonts (no Google Fonts — GDPR).

Testing and launch

An automated navigation test using real clicks and a deploy script that checks the live site.

On-site assistant

A conversation with suggested replies and free-text questions in EN/PL/DE: answers from the site's content, refers health questions to a doctor and the spa reception, and books the visit step by step (hotel guests included) — no AI model, no data sent.

By the numbers

A concept project has no sales figures — these are verifiable facts from the repository.

3 language versions with localised URLs
153 automated checks using real clicks — navigation, booking and the assistant, passed on the live site
56 unit tests: booking rules and the assistant
4 booking steps with live-calculated costs

How we worked

From visual direction to a live site in short iterations — with the design approved before the first line of code, and tests that measure what users actually see.

01

Direction

Research into hotel wellness and the choice of style, palette and typography.

02

Design

Home, booking and voucher layouts on a design canvas — revised before any code.

03

Build

Astro, interactive Preact islands, content in three languages and motion design.

04

Testing

Every menu link from three scroll positions, on desktop and mobile, in every language.

05

Launch

Upload over FTPS and an automatic check of the live URLs after every deploy.

Technology

A static Astro site with small interactive islands instead of a heavy app: fast loading, simple hosting and no database to maintain. GSAP and Lenis animations respect the reduced-motion setting, and the site works without JavaScript too.

Frequently asked questions

Is the on-site assistant AI?

No. It is a rule-based assistant: it recognises questions by keywords in three languages, answers only with the site's content and books by the same rules as the booking flow (weekend prices, free places, the hotel-guest discount). It sends no data and gives no medical advice. In a live build the same conversation can be connected to a language model.

Is this a real hotel's website?

No. Solenne Hotel & Spa is a Primessio concept project — the brand, prices, address and reviews are fictional, and the forms send nothing. The technology, design and way of working are the same as in our client projects.

Can the booking be connected to the hotel's system?

Yes. The booking flow is the interface: in a live build, dates and availability come from the spa or hotel booking system, and payment goes through a payment provider. The pricing logic, extras and hotel-guest mode stay the same.

How long does a website like this take to build?

It depends on the scope: the number of languages, the booking-system integration and the amount of content. You approve the design on layouts first, then we build in short iterations — scope and timeline are agreed before we start.

Don't the animations slow the site down?

The site is static, and JavaScript only loads where it is needed (booking, treatment menu, voucher). Animations switch off when the visitor has reduced motion enabled, and the content is visible without them.

Is the site GDPR-compliant?

Yes, as far as the website goes: fonts are hosted on the site's own server (no Google Fonts), and the demo collects no data. A live build adds a consent banner and analytics that only start after consent.

Do you run a hotel, spa or wellness resort?

We design and build websites that sell stays, treatments and vouchers in several languages — with a booking flow where guests see the price from the very first click.
